Master Plan
What is an Airport Master Plan?
An Airport Master Plan is a tool to support airport modernization and development to meet foreseeable aviation demand and customer needs. The goals of this Plan are to provide the highest level of safety, customer convenience, operational efficiency and economic benefit to the region.
The Master Plan will be developed through a combination of professional evaluation and stakeholder involvement and will follow FAA guidance provided in Advisory Circular 150/5070-6B, Airport Master Plans (http://www.faa.gov). The study will evaluate facility needs of the airfield (runways and taxiways), landside (auto parking and access), terminal building and overall airport land use. The resultant products of the study include a Master Plan Report and an Airport Layout Plan (drawing set). This study will focus on a 20-year planning horizon and identify the short-, mid- and long-term development goals of the Airport. It will also have flexibility to accommodate changing conditions beyond the 20-year horizon. The overall process for performing this Master Plan study is identified in the following figure:
